The Road to Alcarnus | Act II
Note: After talking to the Enchantress (Eirena) at the Black Canyon Bridge, The Road to Alcarnus quest is auto-enabled.
- Cross the Black Canyon Bridge
Necromancer: Now to the Khasim Outpost.
- Find Khasim Outpost in Stinging Winds.
Eirena is a welcome addition to my allies. How strange that so many people have chosen to keep company with a Priest of Rathma! Our times must be desperate indeed. Maghda and her miserable coven are to blame. Their deaths will even the scales.
Note: Follow the road until you come to the crumbled gate. Now head west along the wall for the alternate route.
Necromancer: For once, the cultists are not using an illusion. The way is blocked. I must go through the Khasim Outpost to the west.
In the west, cross through this gate and downhill to the upper side of the Stinging Winds.
Head straight north circumventing any walls in the center of the map until the path narrows into a bottleneck and a stairs. Here you might usually find a Cain’s Lost Satchel.

Go through the narrow stairs to find the Khasim Outpost Waypoint — if you haven’t unlocked it.
Enter the Khasim Outpost to complete the Objective.
- Talk to Lieutenant Vachem in Khasim Outpost
The surrounding deserts are filled with peril, yet an eerie calm rests over the Khasim Outpost, and the gates are shut. A dark force is at work here.
Templar: There’s something odd about those guards.
Note: Not part of the objectives, but there is a Imperial Guard Supplies item on the ground at this location in the Khasim Outpost that drops Guard’s Orders.

You are hereby ordered to send a band of your most loyal men to secure the Khasim Outpost.
Control of the city hangs by a thread. The commoners are becoming restless, and it is imperative that we subdue them. Remain vigilant, for there may already be an outsider within our borders, looking to stir up trouble.

Aleran: We’ve been safe ever since the Imperial Guard came.
Caliem: If you need a place to camp until the gates are opened, there is room in our cellars, safe from the desert heat.
Kadin: The Imperial Guard will keep us safe.
Necromancer: I need you to open the gate.
Lieutenant Vachem: You must be mad! But if you’re intent on rushing headlong to your death, talk to Captain Davyd down in the command post. He’s got the gate key.
- Enter the Command Post
Note: The Command Post door becomes interactive. Click the entrance to enter the room.
Maghda: Here you are, delivered unto me as a sacrifice! A gift from Lord Belial!
Necromancer: Or he’s setting you up to fail.
- Kill the demons in the Command Post
- Open the Locked Cage
Maghda: No. He would never betray me! Strike her down!
Necromancer: You never learn.
Note: Click the Locked Cage to free the prisoners.
Captain Davyd: Not a moment too soon. They planned to sacrifice us to Belial. Iron Wolves, take back the town!
- Kill the disguised demons in Khasim Outpost
Note: Help the Iron Wolves to kill the 7 Copperfang Lurkers. This reveals that the Imperial Guard are actually Belial’s demon minions disguised as humans among Caldeum.
- Talk to Captain Davyd in Khasim Outpost
Necromancer: Did Maghda go to Alcarnus?
Captain Davyd: Yes. We’ve heard rumors of a horrible slaughter there.
Necromancer: Then I’ll be on my way.

- Travel through Khasim Outpost’s east gate
- Find Alcarnus
Now that the little deception is out of the way, I can finally reach Alcarnus. This time, Maghda will finally meet her death.
