Personally, I am opposed to Blizzard Entertainment’s collaborations with other companies’ media as a means to “share favorite franchises with players” and make some revenue at the same time. I.E. Hasbro’s The Transformers, Cowboy Bebop, One-Punch Man, etc.

Blame me for being old-school, preferring a more pristine video game universe and gameplay experience.

But … here we are. The Diablo X BERSERK collaboration event hails from a popular Japanese manga known as BERSERK by Kentaro Miura who published its first 48-page prototype manga in 1988. The first volume was published in 1990 and it became a sensation. To date, the series is now collected in the Berserk Deluxe Complete Hardcover Books Collection (Volumes 1-14).

In Europe, the manga series was published in France and Italy in the mid-90s. Later, in the United States of America, Dark Horse Comics picked up the manga in 2003 publishing an English translation. So far they have published 40 Volumes. Spain published it from 2001-2007 until MangaLine’s bankruptcy and 2011-2013 under Glénat Editions — a different publisher. The illustrator and creator, Kentaro Miura, died on May 6, 2021, at age 54.
