Diablo Immortal Android March 29 update expands compatibility

Diablo Immortal Android updates are generally posted every two Thursdays, and rarely on a Friday. The latest update came today Monday at 2pm.

I went on a hunt to ask players to share whether their non-compatible devices have become compatible in this build. It turns out I was right. A new compatibility list has expanded minimum requirements for Diablo Immortal.

Diablo Immortal Beta Leak?

A few hours ago, I launched the Diablo Immortal app in iOS, as I frequently do, to check out if there are any changes. Usually, those who participated in the technical alpha could launch the app and see their characters. I can still do that in the Android version. This is exactly what the iOS version was saying from the moment technical alpha ended until today around noon.

However, something happened in the past few hours in iOS. Dredscythe sent me a message to inform me what he discovered. Now when I launch the Diablo Immortal app in iOS, it no longer launches the app at all. Instead I get this message: “Diablo Immortal Beta has expired.”

Diablo Immortal: Diablo: Moon of the Spider Summary

Diablo: Moon of the Spider takes place some time after Tyrael destroyed the Worldstone (Diablo II: Lord of Destruction). It is never described how many months or years has passed since then. But we do know that King Cornelius died around the time Zayl the necromancer arrived to Westmarch.

Another necromancer had been around in Westmarch at least a few months before Zayl did. So it might be safe to say that the novel takes place at least within a year or two after Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.

There aren’t many copies around of Diablo: Moon of the Spider (published in January 2006). I managed to get my copy last week for $19.99. But it is common to see them listed for $30, $60-$100 and even nearing a $1000.

I hope the novel becomes available again under the Blizzard Legends label, because if there are no plans for a Diablo Immortal novel tie-in, then Diablo: Moon of the Spider is the defacto follow up novel after Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.

Diablo Immortal China Updates NPPA Approval Number

A few weeks ago, I informed the Chinese NPPA office approved Diablo Immortal to be published in China.

I got an email alert that the Diablo Immortal China website had been updated. Looking at the changes, they have added the following text at the bottom of the page.

  • Approval number: Guoxin Approval [2021] No. 322
  • Publication number: ISBN 978-7-498-08809-3

The image below has been teal-colored to show the website change. Above is the di.blizzard.cn website (Diablo Immortal’s official chinese website) and at the bottom is a view of the NPPA website.

Russia Approves Diablo Immortal Trademark

RedOctober informs me Russia has approved in February 17, 2021 a Diablo trademark that includes goods and services for mobile games (9) and computer games (41). There is another site in Russia that lists it specifically for Diablo Immortal — and shares approximately the same date some of the other Diablo Immortal trademarks around the world were filed in (at the end of September 2020).

BlizzConline 2021: Diablo Immortal: Alpha and Beyond Transcript

The Diablo Immortal: Alpha and Beyond panel was held on February 19, 2021 at 6:45pm EST. The next Diablo Immortal test will be soon up to level 60. One of the two remaining known Classes will be playable in this upcoming test, and it will be longer than Technical Alpha (which lasted two weeks).
