Blizzard Entertainment has had a long history with WETA and with sculptor|make-up artist Steve Wang both which have created awe-inspiring life-sized statues based on Diablo, World of Warcraft and StarCraft iconic characters. Some of these statues can be seen throughout several departments in the Blizzard Headquarters campus.

Visiting Blizzard Entertainment is not exclusive to press, fansites and celebrities. YOU can actually request a tour and schedule a visiting date by emailing tours@blizzard.com.

The most notorious statue is the massive orc wolfrider standing proud at the center of the Blizzard campus.

We have seen the other life-size statues at BlizzCon: Tyrael, Jim Raynor, Illidan, StarCraft: Ghost Nova, and Kerrigan the Queen of Blades.

Sideshow Collectibles is currently selling the T-800 Version 2.0 Life-Size Figure. After reading the instructions PDF I noticed you can actually mount it yourself. The statue is shipped in pieces, and you assemble it like you would a LEGO.

Sideshow is also producing the Darth Malgus Life-Size Figure. And guess what? Sideshow Collectibles just announced today the Iron Man 3 Mark XLII Life-Size Figure.

I have visited Sideshow Collectibles website several times monthly for the past 6-7 years. The Terminator one was announced back in 2010, but this is the first time I see Sideshow actually shipping and announcing new upcoming life-sized statues. So it wasn’t just a one-time thing. Sideshow is really getting into life-size statue licenses. Currently the Star Wars, Terminator and Marvel Comics licenses are in the spotlight at Sideshow.

This really made me ponder. Sideshow Collectibles currently sells the following Blizzard licensed products: the Arthas Polystone Statue, the Diablo Polystone Statue (Sept 2013) and the StarCraft II Sixth Scale Figures.

How long will it be before Sideshow Collectibles announces a Tyrael Life-Sized statue? Or a Jim Raynor Life-Sized Statue. Or a King Varian / Thrall Life-Sized Statue? Would you love having one of these? Heck, can you even afford it?

Sideshow seems to sell these Life-Size statue at a flat $5,999 price with a monthly payment option. I’d say the majority of fans might need to build additional pylons and more probes to afford it. However, there are people who can afford it. Otherwise, these three licensed statues wouldn’t be currently in development. There is a niche of fans taking them home.

Update (April 23, 2013): A Sideshow Collectibles representative told Blizzplanet: “Life-Size figures for Blizzard Entertainment licenses aren’t out of the realm of possibility but at this time there are no projects in the works for any Life-Size Figures from Diablo, Word of Warcraft, etc.”
