A few weeks ago, I posted an article after an intriguing job opening appeared in the Blizzard Careers portal under the Classic Games category.

The “Senior Technical Artist, Characters” job opening had a peculiar wording: “Help manage external vendors.” This led me to believe that it might refer to Diablo II: Resurrected, because of the external game studios: Vicarious Visions.

A Blizzplanet follower, Ivenend, sent me a message. After the Blizzard Careers page overhaul last week, that same job opening now says the game title for which the Senior Technical Artist, Characters is going to work for.

It is … Diablo III.

That upon itself is mind-blowing.

What would Blizzard need an external vendor for with Diablo III?

What would Blizzard need a Senior Technical Artist, Characters for in Diablo III?

The last major content released by Blizzard Entertainment after the Reaper of Souls expansion was the Rise of the Necromancer pack.

I am not going to speculate on this one, but I can think of a couple of possibilities.

All I can say, based on this job opening, is that Diablo III might have some new content other than Seasons.
