The latest graphic novel, Diablo – Legends of the Barbarian: Bul-Kathos now has a front cover. The book is slated to ship on July 11, 2023. It’s really good to see Blizzard Entertainment’s publishing team working on a Diablo graphic novel.

This will be Blizzard’s first foray into a graphic novel based in the Diablo universe. Prior to this, there have been 3 Diablo comic books titles. The first one by Dark Horse was a one-shot titled Diablo: Tales of Sanctuary (2001). Then in 2013, DC Comics Diablo: Sword of Justice. In 2018, during my visit to the New York Comic Con, I reported that Titan Comics confirmed to me the Diablo comics title had been cancelled. It featured Lilith.

I still hope to see a new Diablo ongoing comics after Diablo 4 ships, but Blizzard hasn’t announced one. In the meantime, we have Legends of the Barbarian: Bul-Kathos to sate our thirst for lore and graphics based on our favorite RPG video game.

Diablo – Legends of the Barbarian: Bul-Kathos

At the dawn of Sanctuary, legends were born. Don’t miss this exclusive, original Diablo® graphic novel chronicling the rise of Bul-Kathos, progenitor of the barbarian class, and his ancient charge to defend Mount Arreat.

Long before Bul-Kathos became known as the father of barbarians, he was father to only two: his twin children Naarah and Hiram. Naarah followed her father’s path and became a great fighter, but the ways of their tribe never came naturally to Hiram. After years on walkabout, Hiram returns to his family, having discovered a new way . . . and a new power he seeks to claim with his father’s help.

From the Diablo® development team and storied author-artist duo John Arcudi and Geraldo Borges comes an unforgettable, stunningly illustrated tale. Legends of the Barbarian: Bul-Kathos is at once the myth of a mighty king whose name was forged in battle and the tragedy of a father who bears a heavy crown. — pre-order here.
