With access to the Diablo Immortal Technical Alpha, I was able to explore most of the systems you are interested to know about. Here is a sneak preview of some of them.

QUEST TRACKER

The Quest Tracker is located in the top-left, below your character portrait. Whenever a new quest becomes available, it will show you the quest title and the immediate objective.

If you click any of the quests listed there, footprints are painted on the ground directing your how to reach your destination. You can also ping in the map and accomplish the same function.

The Quest Tracker also provides a Guide of what to do next, and alerts you when there are pending rewards from achievements and accomplishments.

SHOP

This is probably the system you most want to know about. At the moment, the Shop offers three items: Legendary Crest, Reforge Stone, and Platinum.

Now… I know what you will think when you see these: “I knew it… Diablo Immortal is P2W. GG!”

Well, yes and no. You see, the reason people hate P2W is because only those who pay get the best gear. While those who play free, do not get access to said gear, or to tokens, gems and stones that P2W players do.

Blizzard and NetEase, however, are some darn clever tinkerers. Solved the problem that plagues other mobile games in the industry. When a player buys Platinum with real money to buy the Legendary Crests (for example), the entire team who joins the Elder Rift with enhanced Legendary Crests will get the benefit.

So all other players in this team who play for Free will get the same chance to a good reward as the one player who purchased the Legendary Crests. So clever. Everyone in the party wins. It kinda feels like the Heroes of the Storm boost pack which benefits the entire team, but in this case the boost pack grants great rewards to everyone in the party.

Legendary Crest: Each Legendary Crest adds two random modifiers to an Elder Rift, grants Fading Embers to all party members, and guarantees you a Legendary Gem drop and 3 Runes.

Reforge Stone: There are currently 6 Reforge Stones:

  • Wildfire Stone:
  • Tremor Stone:
  • Jolt Stone:
  • Vengeance Stone:
  • Barrier Stone:
  • Ravager Stone:

Platinum: When you buy or sell in the Market — Platinum is the currency used on both ends. The market is a player exchange source of Legendary Gems, Normal Gems, Runes, and Skill Stones. But not all Platinum comes from real money (Eternal Orbs). Platinum is rewarded by completing daily tasks, and achievements; as well as rewards from the Battle Pass free track.

HONOR MERCHANT

The Honor Merchant Lieutenant Fizriah is located in Rakkis Plaza, Westmarch City. He sells a variety of Daily Purchases which have a buy-amount limit: Crests, Gems, Reforge Stones and other items for Honor Currency. So far these are rewarded when you complete achievements within each zone. You can only buy 3/3 for each of these Daily Purchases, except for the Rare Crest which is 1/1.

Rare Crest: Use when opening an Elder Rift to add a modifier to the Rift. Completing the Elder Rift grants Fading Embers to all party members and guarantees you 3 Runes.

Reforge Stone: Random Bonus Property. When used during Reforging, this stone will replace a Bonus Attribute with a new one from any family.

Tourmaline (Rank 1): Attribute Bonus +16 Damage.

Ruby (Rank 1): Attribute Bonus +160 Life.

Citrine (Rank 1): Attribute Bonus +9 Offense Rating.

Topaz (Rank 1): Attribute Bonus +9 Defense Rating.

  • Rare Crest: Use when opening an Elder Rift to add a modifier to the Rift. Completing the Elder Rift grants Fading Embers to all party members and guarantees you 3 Runes. (100 Eternal Orbs)

REFORGE STONE VENDOR

Yverius the Reforge Stone Vendor sells 6 types of stones which replace a bonus attribute with a specific stone family. He is located in Rakkis Plaza, Westmarch City — next to Charsi the Blacksmith. These stones can only be purchased with Eternal Orbs — obtained for Real Money.

  • Wildfire Stone: When used during Reforging, this stone will replace a Bonus Attribute with a new one from the Wildfire family.

  • Ravager Stone: When used during Reforging, this stone will replace a Bonus Attribute with a new one from the Ravager family.

MARKET

The market allows players to buy and sell specific items using Platinum currency. The items are listed for 48 hours, and will be returned to the seller if not sold.

When selling, there is a recommended price based on recent market activity. You can adjust the item’s price above or below recommended price. When an item is sold, 15% of the sale price is charged as a fee.

Scarce items such as Legendary Gems and Skill Stones have additional rules. These have a wider range of value, and are on public display in the Market for 12 hours before they can be purchased. A small gold fee is charged to listed items whether they get sold or not. Sold items get the 15% fee, as well.

Items sold on the Market: Gems, Legendary Gems, Runes, and Skill Stones.

Gems can be sold in categories by Rank (from Rank 1-6).

There are 6 types of Gems (which I listed above in the Honor Merchant): Tourmaline, Ruby, Citrine, Topaz, Sapphire, and Aquamarine.

There are 15 types of Runes, but the Merchant only lists 14. Not sure if it is a bug that the ATI rune is not listed in the Market.

There are 23 types of Legendary Gems in the Market. I’ll list them separately in the Legendary Gems Vendor section below.

CRYSTAL MERCHANT

Luuko the Crystal Merchant only sells one item. He is located inside a building, next to Seril the Apprentice Jewelcrafter in Rakkis Plaza, Westmarch City.

  • Echo Crystal: Used to upgrade normal gems above Rank 5. Costs: 500 Platinum.
