Diablo II Patch 1.13c was the last balance patch deployed 11 years ago. In early 2022, Diablo II: Resurrected PTR 2.4 will introduce class balance improvements, item changes, and shortly after the first Ladder Season.

Patch 2.4 will also introduce new Horadric Cube recipes, Set item changes, new Rune Words, and improvements to mercenaries.

One of the new Horadric Cube recipes will allow players to upgrade Set items and this will give underperforming set items better bonuses for equipping partial or full set items.

The first Ladder Season will introduce new rune words exclusive to ladder.

Ladder characters will be moved to a non-Ladder version of the game at the end of the season.
