Our friends over at Reddit /Diablo will start a weekly Diablo III lore discussion. Their first discussion is one I have heard often in some forum communities: The Prophecy of the End Days.

In this prophecy, there is an obvious allusion to the five archangels of the Angiris Council, which makes this prophecy a bit interesting.

      …And, at the End of Days, Wisdom shall be lost
      as Justice falls upon the world of men.
      Valor shall turn to Wrath-
      and all Hope will be swallowed by Despair.
      Death, at last, shall spread its wings over all-
      as Fate lies shattered forever.

Tyrael – Archangel of Justice
Auriel – Archangel of Hope
Malthael – Archangel of Wisdom
Imperius – Archangel of Valor
Itherael – Archangel of Fate
