The Prologue starts right away with Tyrael facing his mortal doubts after taking the mantle of the Archangel of Wisdom, and the discrimination of his own angelic brethren while residing at the High Heavens.

Throughout the novel, the reader will encounter iconic heroes of Sanctuary from different printed media: Mikulov from Diablo III: The Order by Nate Kenyon.
