No. You didn’t read that wrong. After a long hiatus, Associate Community Manager Brandy Camel (Nevalistis) posted TODAY a video teaser about the future of Diablo III. If you take a look at the calendar, the timing of this teaser is exactly 14 days before GamesCom (August 22-25). Fret not, our correspondent Handclaw will be there and we won’t miss anything on the press side. If anything is announced, we might be able to get an interview, or even hands-on gameplay if any of these are available. Follow us on Twitter at @Blizzplanetcom for any potential updates.

Now, as I said, Nevalistis teased multiple announcements — and that doesn’t mean all of them will be revealed simultaneously. It means there are more than one Diablo III project to be announced in the span of the next 1-5 years.

That is a very wide range of possible projects. I can speculate or guess a few ones out of my hat: new expansion? new Theme Season? New Class Pack (like the Necromancer’s)? PvP finally? Who knows, but this video truly teases Diablo fans.

Just as a reminder, a few weeks ago I posted that Titan Publishing announced a new Diablo III Comics mini-series which adds an extra layer of lore to the world of Sanctuary. That woman in the artwork looks a lot like… Lilith. Could the announcement be a new expansion?

Here is the video transcript.

TRANSCRIPT

Nevalistis: Greetings, heroes. I am the associate community manager Brandy Camel (also known as Nevalistis). On behalf of the Diablo team, welcome back to Sanctuary for our newest Season. For those of you still rocking your heroes in Reaper of Souls, you might have noticed we did something a little bit different for Season 14… Themed Seasons.

The Season of Greed is our first Themed Season, and we plan to explore additional Themes in the future. If you would like to know more, click the link in the video description.

We would also like you to know that the forges here at Blizzard are running hot, and we have multiple Diablo projects in the works. Some of them are going to take longer than others. But… we might have some things to show you later this year.

We hope you stay stuned while we work to bring these Diablo experiences to life. None of these would be possible without the support that you have shown us for over 20 years. So whether you first joined us in Diablo III, or you are a seasoned veteran, thank you.

Diablo is, and always will be, part of Blizzard’s identity, and we can’t wait for the future.
