Within the world of Sanctuary in the Kingdom of Khanduras, barbarians are an ancient class of legendary warriors. Barbarians are known for their immense size, relentless fury and two-weapon fighting techniques and dwell upon their sacred Mount Arreat. Though once misunderstood to be simple and aggressive invaders, they are a noble, proud people, upholding great tradition – protecting Mount Arreat and the mysterious artifact it holds.

Sideshow Collectibles and Blizzard Entertainment are proud to introduce the Diablo III Collectible series with this epic first release. The Barbarian Statue depicts the warrior class in fine form, wielding dual-axes in the heat of battle. Each piece is hand-cast in high quality polystone, individually finished and hand-painted to exacting standards, complete with individually assigned edition numbers on the bottom side of the base. Don’t miss this opportunity to begin your Diablo III collection with the limited edition Barbarian Statue.

If you placed a pre-order when we displayed the unpainted prototype of this item, you do not need to place an additional order.

Painted Diablo III Overthrown Diorama Update

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to talk with Sideshow Collectibles CEO and president Greg Anzalone and Production Manager Brant Bridges.  Sideshow will debut the fully painted Diablo III: Overthrown Diorama very soon.  We will share these photos with you when they are available.  Last week, I reached Sideshow, and they are committed to let us know in advance when the fully painted Overthrown is finished to alert our visitors.  Additionally, they expect to produce new StarCraft II and World of Warcraft Dioramas by 2010.

Although they weren’t able to go into detail, nor confirmed nor denied it—personally I have a feeling it will be unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con through JULY 23-26.  If my track-record hunch accuracy and detective work means anything to you, that’s probably it.  A couple of years ago, I digged the plans for a World of Warcraft comic book that would be unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con at least 10 days before even DC Comics launched the press release announcing its existence.

The development team is excited to announce that the Diablo 3 statue, Overthrown, has recently received full approval from Blizzard, and the finished piece will be debuted soon on SideshowCollectibles.com! We are in discussion with Blizzard about future Warcraft and Starcraft releases. Although you won

Diablo III Bestiary: The Fallen Ones

Bashiok hinted recently a Bestiary Update was nearby, and it was true.  The Fallen Ones have finally taken the spotlight.  The Fallen Ones have a master … Azmodan the Lord of Sin, one of the Lesser of the Seven Great Evils of the Burning Hells. There are five types of Fallen Ones:

  • Imps – These are the commonest of the fallen family of demons. They are the stereotypical fallen ones in look and behavior: small, red, swarming, bloodthirsty, and cowardly.
  • Shaman – Fallen shaman priests lead camps of fallen. I have also heard it rumored that they possess the ability to raise imps from the dead!
  • Lunatic – These enraged, oversized fallen creatures are bloated seemingly to the point of bursting, an impression buttressed by the fact that these insane demons rush their intended victims and then stab themselves until they explode. A more fitting name could not be found for these maniacal beings.
  • Overseer – The fallen overseer drives his smaller impish charges into a frenzy with his ape-like leaping and growling. An overseer among a group of fallen is a dangerous thing, as the cowardice that usually characterizes them is overwhelmed by fear of their much larger brethren.
  • Hounds – These slobbering abominations are commonly found among groups of the fallen and are utilized as guard animals, beasts of burden, or even food by their demonic masters. These beasts are loyal to a fault, regardless of the abuse heaped upon them.

Bashiok: The Diablo III bestiary has been updated with a demon family you may recognize – The Fallen Ones!

“When unleashed upon our realm by their master, Azmodan, these impish terrors display a tendency to swarm like flesh-hungry locusts, and they have been known to tear apart a sleeping village in minutes. Small of stature and simian in appearance, these creatures possess surprising strength and unnatural agility. Other than feasting on human flesh, the only act that gives these unspeakable horrors pleasure is breeding; hence the tendency to encounter them in large packs.”
